Best for Trainee Chefs!
Warrington Collegiate has a reputation for turning out young chefs ready for modern restaurant kitchens, so equipping the training kitchens with the latest equipment is important. When the college decided on a £27m new building, the quality of the kitchen equipment was high on the design agenda.

warrington_200x300The college wanted equipment that was robust, would be familiar in the workplace when the chefs left college to work in the industry and, because Warrington Collegiate is a training environment, it had to be easy to use.

Taking advice from the kitchen designers Vision Commercial Kitchens, the choice for almost all prime cooking and refrigeration equipment is from The AFE Group, using prime cooking equipment from Falcon and refrigeration from Williams. The units supplied include combi-ovens, ranges, fryers, refrigerated counters and undercounter refrigeration.

Project manager for the new Warrington training kitchens Bridget Floyd says the feedback from the students and chef lecturers working with Falcon and Williams equipment has been very good.

Neither has she any doubts that it is better to work with professional kitchen designers in specifying the best equipment rather than college lecturers.
Bridget comments: “A kitchen designer is dispassionate about what equipment to choose. There are no prejudices and they understand aboutthe best equipment for the job.”
